MJ's Music Studio Policies and Procedures:
Our #1 goal is to have fun while developing a life-long love for playing the piano.
The following are policies and procedures to help keep the studio running smoothly, and for it to be the most beneficial for all involved.
- Lessons are on a weekly basis.
- Regular attendance is very important to ensure success. Arrive punctually, and well prepared.
- It is important that students bring all music books and materials to their lesson each week. If a student forgets to bring books we will utilize other studio materials to ensure learning.
- To make good progress, regular quality practice is important.
- We will have a Fall Recital, and a Spring Recital. In addition, there may be other performance or competition opportunities throughout the year.
- I prefer an acoustic piano at home as keyboards do not always promote optimal progress and quality of music. However, some families start with a keyboard before investing in an acoustic piano and that's ok!

- TUITION INFORMATION:
- Tuition includes not only actual lesson time spent with the student, but also time preparing for each student as well. This also includes recital preparation, repertoire planning and development, and professional organization memberships. Tuition is the same each month regardless of how many lessons there are that month. Some months may have 3, some 4, some 5. Tuition is the same regardless. We follow the Douglas County School District Calendar.
- The Materials Fee ($60 annually) includes Literature Books, Sheet Music and Method Books, Theory Materials, Music Money prizes, and Printing Costs. There may be a small additional cost if the student wants extra books such as Christmas or Disney books.
- Tuition can be paid either monthly, paid in full at 1st lesson, or paid in 2 installments. Whatever works best for your family.
- When students enroll, they are reserving their place in the studio for the entire school year.
- If you need to cancel a lesson, please provide 24 hours notice. Makeup lessons are not guaranteed due to my tight weekly schedule. However, if there is another class the student can attend, we will try to make it happen. No refunds.
- If I have to cancel a lesson, I will also work with you to reschedule it.
PAYMENT METHODS
1) Tuition Payments are processed through automatic, recurring Paypal monthly payments. These are set up through my business system (MyMusicStaff.) This is the primary method of collecting tuition.
2) I prefer that all payments be made online for convenience sake. If someone cannot make an online payment, they may pay by personal check or cash in person at the studio. Make checks payable to: MJ Vogel. Payments are due no later than the 1st of the month.
Enrollment is for August through May; however, you can opt out of classes at any time by providing written notice via e-mail by the 1st of any month.
Tuition for August through May is divided into 10 equal installments; therefore, monthly installments do not necessarily reflect a certain number of classes in any given month. The first monthly installment is processed at the time of enrollment and is non-refundable.
Subsequent installments are processed on the 1st of each month . A confirmation notice will follow receipt of registration and payment.
